Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble (SATE) is proud to remount its 2013 critically acclaimed production Nine/Sketch presented as part of St. Lou Fringe, Festival of Performing Arts, June 18-22 in Midtown St. Louis.
Nine/Sketch partners Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble and Leverage Dance Theatre. In the short play Nine, two women are held in a life-threatening situation; the mind games they play help keep one another alive. Companion dance, Sketch explores fragmentation and time-lapse through a series of duets.
The Ladue News praised Nine/Sketch as “an intriguing study … [instilled] with a taut, suspenseful aura that defines the presentation with a thick cloud of tension.” KDHX called the performances “raw and powerful … presenting bold theatre that challenges the audience and artfully broaching subjects that are painful and disconcerting to consider.”
